But there is more to being a complementary therapist than applying techniques or following a treatment plan. A therapist deals with everything that happens in and around the treatment room.

But where do you go to reflect on how you, the practitioner, are doing? When do you take the time to explore a difficult client dynamic or understand why you leave your practice at the end of the day exhausted or wondering where all your money goes?

Supervision offers a confidential, non-judgmental space to reflect on your work and your well-being. It’s an opportunity to step back, gain perspective, and support yourself as a practitioner.

Unlike clinical supervision, these sessions are not focused solely on treatment strategies and point prescriptions (though these can be discussed). Instead, they focus on you –your experiences, challenges, and growth as a practitioner.

Supervision is not about right or wrong. It’s about exploring where you are now, where you want to be, and how best to get there.

Sessions

Sessions are one hour, online, in English either one on one or in small groups of four.

We usually recommend doing a few personal supervision sessions to make sure you understand and are comfortable with the process before joining a group.

Supervision is recommended every 4-6 weeks, but you can come as often as you feel you have material to bring. Sessions are set up in advance on an ongoing basis.

Supervisees set their own agenda of three or four topics to discuss each session.

Client Reviews

Mentoring and supervisions for acupuncturists - reviews for Sandra Guy

“Sandra is an astute listener who brings great warmth and insight to her supervision sessions. I have hugely benefitted from working with her to explore issues in my practice and have gained much support from her gentle enquiry. Discussing different perspectives has helped me see things I might have otherwise missed. I can’t recommend her highly enough for any practitioner wishing to tend to and flourish in their practice.”

Reviews of Sandra Guy’s mentoring and supervision for acupuncturists

“I remember the first time meeting Sandra and feeling so inspired about Chinese medicine and my career as an acupuncturist. This inspiration is ignited after every session, both receiving an acupuncture session and through our mentoring sessions. Her wealth of knowledge and guidance is infectious.

The beautiful thing about practicing Chinese medicine is that there is so much to learn and so many different styles and theories to explore. This can be a blessing and a curse. Graduating as an acupuncturist I felt overwhelmed and lacking confidence. Through Sandra’s mentoring I’ve found clarity on where I want to take my practice and how I want to practice. Having this clarity has already had such a positive impact on results with clients and the flow and growth of my practice. Thank you, Sandra.”

“The mentoring sessions with Sandra have been so helpful for me, I always gain valuable insights and have more clarity, knowing what to focus on next to build strong foundations in my practice. It is also supportive of my own wellbeing and helps me grow my strengths as a practitioner. Sandra is such a source of wisdom. I love brainstorming with her and her guidance is invaluable to me.”
